Main goal
Reducing unemployed women’s marginalizing and sustaining their
integration / reintegration on the labor market..

‘Preventing the illegal work’ financed by
Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, August 2001 –
March 2002
Goal
Raising the level of awareness and information on black labor
issues for high-school students
Objectives
• Training a number of 1,100 people
from vocational schools, future graduates and employers,
regarding the risks of working without legal papers
• Information sessions in 12
vocational schools regarding the legislation on the labor market
and the contracts for working outside the country
• Informing women attending
“Counseling Center for Unemployed Women” services on the issues
of black labor
• Editing and disseminating
informative brochures for all the mediation centers within REPER
network
Results
• More than 1,100 people trained in
12 vocational schools in Iasi county
• Meetings with 65 teachers,
discussing the problems young women are confronted with
• Informing the women who attend
the services of the ‘Counseling Center for Unemployed Women
‘about various risks of illegally working in the country as well
as abroad2

„Training of Human Resources – Carpet
Weaving” ( PRUT) , financed by Phare Project 2000 Economic and
Social Cohesion – Pro WOMEN is partner in this project together
with TEHNOTRANS Company
Goal
To sustain initiatives for human resources employment,
especially female resources, in two villages of Iasi and
Botosani counties in order to create lasting working places and
to develop specific abilities for relaunching the local
traditions
Activities
• Training 25 women in each of the
2 locations in carpet weaving (with certificate)
• Creating and developing a local
small company for manufacturing wool carpets (at least 10 looms)
• Informing people from the 2
villages related to other local opportunities with great
economical potential

“Facilitating a social dialogue for the
unemployed women aged over 45”, financed by World Bank, Small
Grants, 15 August - 15 November 2004
Goal
Providing a space for dialogue between unemployed women aged
over 45 as a disadvantaged group in the employment process,
employers, governmental agencies which are dealing with human
resources employment (ANOFM and AJOFM) and NGOs (associations
and foundations) members of REPER network which are offering
services on the labor market and they are legally empowered for
this by the National Agency for Labor Force Employment (ANOFM)
Target group
Unemployed women aged over 45
Activities

• Organizing five seminars on the
local level, in Iasi, Roman, Campia Turzii, Hunedoara si
Targoviste - by the member associations of the REPER network;
the participants were: representatives of the County or Local
Agency for Labor Force Employment, representatives of the
employers from the mentioned cities, unemployed women who are
clients of the local Center, members of the County or Local
Councils, mass media representatives
• Organizing a national seminar in
Bucharest on the discrimination on the basis of age for the
women over 45; the participants were: partner organizations
within REPER network, representatives of National Agency for
Labor Force Employment (ANOFM), mass media representatives
Results
• 6 working meetings took place in
Iasi, Roman, Campia Turzii, Hunedoara, Targoviste and Bucuresti
have enabled opening a dialogue on female over 45 unemployment
between the main interested parts, NGOs from REPER network which
develops specific services on labor market and Local Agencies
for Labor Force Occupation
•
A number of 73 people participated in the meeting representing
mass media, companies, local and county counsellors, unemployed
women over 45, NGOs from REPER network (in Hunedoara meeting a
representative of League for Righteousness against Corruption)
and local authorities involved in the process (Local and
National Agencies for Labour Force Employment)
•
There have been proposed alternatives and solutions for
combating the unemployment of the women over 45 according to the
Romanian social and economic realities. The most relevant ones
are: self adjustment for the women over 45 to the new
requirement of the labor market, enforcing a set of legal
measures as an incentive for the employers for hiring women of
this age, specific services of vocational counseling, of
information and psychological counseling, job mediation and
training in searching for a job, promoting successful; cases,
collaboration between the agencies aimed to ensure support and
counseling for people over 45, eliminating the discrimination
based on age

FACILITATING LABOR
MARKET ACCESS FOR YOUNG UNEMPLOYED FROM DARABANI, BOTOSANI
COUNTY, financed by PHARE Program 2002, Social and Economic
Cohesion, Human Resources Development

The aim of the project is offering the possibility to get ECDL
certified for a group of 30 young unemployed in Darabani as well
as providing professional counselling.
The main aplicant in the project was Darabani Local Council.
Pro WOMEN Foundation was the
partner in this project along with N. Iorga Pedagogical High
school from Botosani. It is involved in activities of target
group selection, organizing courses on techniques for searching
for a job, professional orientation and jobs mediation.
Obtained results
• 80% from young unemployed
beneficiated of coursese in techniques in searching for a job
• 10 unemployed set up their
individual career plan

RESOURCES AND
INFORMATION CENTRE FOR UNEMPLOYED, financed by PHARE Program
2002, Social and Economic Cohesion, Human Resources Development

The aim of the project is to initiate a Resources and
Information Centre for Unemployed to offer a complex set of
professional counselling and guiding services as well as of jobs
mediation.
The main aplicant in the project was Dorohoi Local Council.
Pro WOMEN
Fundation was partner along
with Resources and Consultation Centre of Iasi.

Obtained results
• 32 unemployed beneficiated from
vocational counselling and orientation
• 332 unemployed were trained in
“Career management” (the course had three modules: Career
planning, Techniques in searching for a job, Information related
to labour legislation)
• 35 unemployed beneficiated from
courses of TOT

Vocational Integration Centre for Young
People from Targu Frumos, financed by EU - Social and Economic
Cohesion, Human Resources Development December 2004 – November
2005
Aim
Facilitating the access to the labour market for vulnerable
categories from Targu Frumos (young unemployed people and the
youngsters who are leaving the placement centres). There will be
sustained active measures for employment and will be stimulated
abilities’ development which is asked by labour market dynamic

• young unemployed (persons aged
between 15 and 25 years old); young people leaving their school
without any qualification and with a law level of skills, many
times irrelevant for the labour market requirements
• young people leaving the
placement centres (Trinitas Placement Center) who usually lack
an appropriate level of training/information and skills

• 147 youngsters were trained in
looking for a job (12 courses)
• 113 youngsters participated at
training sessions on labour legislation (11 courses)
• 230 job mediation
• 6 courses for initiating and
starting a business (16 persons)
• 2 courses for career planning (18
participants)
• Realising events for selecting
the target group (Open Gates Day for Unemployed Persons) and a
