    Employment Promotion for Youth and Adults from Marginalized Communities in Iasi and     Botosani Counties



Employment Promotion for Youth and Adults from Marginalized Communities in Iasi and Botosani Counties, financed by INTERNATIONAL LABOUR ORGANIZATION (ILO)-International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC), July 2005 – September 2006 

Pro WOMEN Foundation is partner in the project along with: Social Alternatives Association Iasi, County General Department for Social Assistance and Child Rights Protection from Iasi and Botosani counties, County Employment Agencies from Iasi and Botosani counties, School Inspectorates from Iasi and Botosani counties.
 
Objectives

• Ensure the ongoing training of specialists at local level, involved in preventing and reducing the exploitation and trafficking in children realities
• Improve the offer for vocational education training and job placement for youth and adults through the cooperation of the school inspectorates, labour offices, NGOs and business sector
• examine the documents on good practices on prevention of trafficked and exploited children, promote them and identify new good practices

Activities

A. Developing the knowledge and working capacities for school counsellors, vocational counsellors, psychologists by organising trainings and good practices workshops

B. Direct actions

1. Direct services for 100 teens aged 16-18 years old:

• Life skills trainings: self knowledge, developing the cognitive and emotional abilities for building relationships, communication and negotiation, taking decisions, solving the conflicts
• Sessions on specific legislation (Core Labour Standards as defined by the ILO, child labour, Risks linked to illegal migration, Impact of sexual and labour exploitation on children health and development, What children can do against child labour etc.)
• Vocational and job counselling: presentation of the labour market situation, career management, individual career development and planning, techniques in searching for a job, how to become an entrepreneur and the steps for it)
• Qualification courses (delivered by County Agency for Labour Force Occupation and by other private agencies); in special cases, the courses’ costs will be covered by the programme)
• Jobs mediation for employment: 30 graduates of qualification courses will be supported in finding a job)

2. Direct services for 30 adults from marginalized communities (especially parents, brothers, sisters of the children being in risk situations):

• Vocational counselling and orientation
• Mediation for finding a job

C. Gender and Ethnic Sensitiveness activities: there will be organized round tables in every county with local employers in order to sensibly and make them aware about child
